The major cities of the world have long been marked by contemporary buildings with monumental architecture. In addition to their social utility, they are tangible elements that are landmarks in the territories of urban life. The human being needs to appropriate the environment he inhabits, and for this he builds a heritage with these sets, whether they are frequented or seen from the street. What perceptions do we have? Pragmatic, sensitive, poetic ? Do we pass these buildings or watch them pass from our subjective points of view ? Their imposing and dizzying masses often force us to raise our heads to heaven, as if overwhelmed by divine force. We are the passengers or sometimes the mere spectators of these majestic ships.

My photographic work aims to question the real/imaginary relationship of these new cathedrals and their aerospace visual correspondences: thus the title of the series refers to the universe of science fiction and its graphic imagery. And these phantasmagoric visions may also contribute to the inscription of these ships in the collective urban memory, like the great secular monuments. With defiance or wonder.
